Lavang

Lavanga, commonly known as clove, is one of the most widely used spices in kitchens for centuries. In Hindi, it is called Laung. From an Ayurvedic perspective, Lavanga holds great medicinal significance and is used in the treatment of various ailments.

Known for its soothing and cooling effects on the stomach, Lavanga is especially beneficial in relieving morning sickness in pregnant women. It supports healthy digestion and promotes overall gastrointestinal comfort.

Clove is rich in Eugenol, which constitutes 70–90% of its essential oil. Other key phytochemical compounds include beta-caryophyllene, methyl salicylate, kaempferol, acetyl eugenol, triterpenoids, gallotannic acid, rhamnetin, vanillin, and eugenin. These bioactive compounds contribute to its carminative, digestive, antibacterial, immunostimulant, decongestant, expectorant, and aphrodisiac properties.
