Butea is a plant found in tropical and subtropical parts of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, including India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. It is commonly known as Flame-of-the-Forest, Bastard Teak, or Palash flower.

This flower is often seen as a symbol of spring and the color of love. Both fresh and dried Palash flowers are used to help remove toxins from the body. The tree is small to medium in size, deciduous (sheds leaves in dry seasons), and can grow up to 49 feet tall. Young trees grow a few feet every year, and they grow faster than many other deciduous trees.

The leaves are around 8 to 16 cm long. The Kesuda Phool are about 2.5 cm long and 15 cm wide, and they bloom in a bright orange-red color. The fruit is 15 to 20 cm long and 4 to 5 cm wide.

To use the flowers, dry them in sunlight and then grind them into a powder. Taking 1 to 2 grams of this powder daily may help in treating sexual weakness and intestinal infections.
